Common names Bay Laurel, Bay, Bay Leaf, Laurel Leaf and Sweet Bay. Bay Leaf has a long history of use as a pain reliever for arthritic aches and pains, lower back pain, earaches, and sore muscles and sprains.
Bay has a strong, spicy bay leaf scent and blends well with Pine, Cypress and Juniper, Lavender. Frankincense and Clary Sage. Combine it with Rosemary for an high-powered study blend. Citrus oils and other spices are also very nice. Use in moderation though since it can easily overpower other aromas. Bay Laural can be helpful for healing problems on the skin such as rashes and symptoms of stinging nettle, poison ivy or poison oak and is thought it could be an inhibitor of melanoma, meaning that it may decrease the possibility of skin cancer.
