Lavenders sedative and tonic effects make lavender a great balancer of the nervous and emotional systems and was a favorite aromatic for use by the Romans in their baths. A familiar scent to most everyone, our Classic Lavender lotion is actually made with our Lavandin (Organic) Essential Oil. (Lavandin is widely used in commercial products claiming to be Lavender). The scent of Lavandin is fresh camphoraceous, woody herbaceous and a mild floral and is the smell that most people associate with the smell of Lavender.
 
Lavandin (Organic) is a hybrid between True Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia) and Spike Lavender (Lavandula Latifolia). Though the two plants do not grow at the same altitude it is believed that cross pollination by insects created the plant which grows wild in the Mediterranean region of France, Spain, Hungary and Bulgaria.
 
The therapeutic properties of Lavandin (Organic) Essential Oil are similar to that of True Lavender (Bulgarian and Population) but milder.
