It takes roughly between 6000 lbs. to 7500 lbs. of plant material to yeld 1 lb of essential oil. Making this oil very expensive to produce. Add to the fact that the oil smells like Citronella and Lemon which is usually what you find in a cheeper product or a synthetic or fragrance.
True Melissa oil in very low concentration works very well for the treatment of cold sores even as low as a 1 % dilution. It is also very valuable in treating eczema and other skin problems.
The actions of the oil are antidepressant, antihistaminic, antispasmodic, bactericiidal, carminative, cordial, diaphoretic, emmenagogue, febrifuge, hypertensive, nervine, sedative, stomachic, sudorific, tonic, uterine, vermifuge
This oil is a 3 % dilution in Jojoba Oil concidering that Melissa works well in a 1 % dilution this oil is a good value at 3 %
